Jan works with a forward-looking mindset: ‘Aluminium is the material of the future’

That Euramax never stands still is an understatement. It’s the responsibility of Jan Geschiere to look after innovations and manage growth projects. ‘I can be busy with a sustainability plan one day, and work on business development in America the next,’ he sketches the diversity he finds so interesting working as Head of Strategy at Euramax.

Embracing different tasks

From his very first day at Euramax, Jan notices the enormous energy with his colleagues. ‘Everyone is so motivated, it’s such an extraordinary thing to experience.’ Jan has that same drive. He eagerly embraces all the tasks that are part of his job position. ‘I work on sustainability, strategy, business development and marketing’, he sums up. Because of his finance background, the jack-of-all-trades was also able to support Amerimax, the American equivalent of Euramax. In order to do so, last year he spent much time across the ocean. ‘That project is now completely in the hands of the local team again, allowing me to focus on the work in Roermond. For me, those dynamics characterize Euramax. When something needs to be done, we roll up our sleeves and start working together.’

Together we have the future

‘Our customers love working with Euramax, because they know we’re on their side’, Jan says. ‘Our efforts in the field of sustainability and marketing also contribute to that. At Euramax we’re actively thinking along with our customers about how they can help their customers as well as possible. When we make our products more sustainable, our customers in their turn can make their vehicles more sustainable. That way we take care of a healthier world together, something Euramax is highly committed to.’

‘We make sure that our customers can take care of their customers as well as possible’

The material of the future

Before he joined Euramax, Jan could not imagine people being so passionate about coated aluminium. That love for the product and the company’s involvedness are what summarize Euramax for me. Many of my colleagues have been working at Euramax for tens of years and can’t bear the thought of ever having to retire. It really feels like a second home here.’ The love for aluminium meanwhile has also caught on with Jan. With the disclaimer that he ‘skips the marketing pitch’, he says: ‘The use of aluminium is still increasing. Which is no surprise, because it’s beautiful, lightweight and there are few materials as circular and sustainable as aluminium. You can recycle it endlessly, without losing quality. Aluminium is the material of the future.’ Jan sees his own future through the same rose-coloured glasses: ‘I’m happy to keep contributing to the beautiful growth and sustainability initiatives of Euramax.’
