Improve the strength and save weight and money with StrongLite, our high-quality alloy. Compared to standard alloys, StrongLite makes for a 20% lighter wall. The sustainable solution for today’s and tomorrow’s mobility projects: vehicles become more environmentally friendly without compromising on the quality of the wall. In absolute terms, the weight savings can amount to as much as 19 kilograms per vehicle. That way we make a serious difference together.

Strong and light from all angles

Rather than using conventional 0.8mm aluminum, StrongLite allows for the use of 0.7mm for the exterior walls of a caravan or camper while maintaining the mechanical values. Additionally, StrongLite offers new possibilities for the roof, allowing you to create a lighter roof while keeping the construction in perfect balance.

Considerably lighter than plastic

Compared to plastic, StrongLite is up to 20% lighter. Combine that with its beautiful appearance and long lifespan, and the picture is complete. Can you already envision those lightweight caravans or campers on the road? We certainly can! What’s even more wonderful is that due to the weight savings, you’ll need less fuel or be able to drive longer on the battery.

How it started

Thirty years ago, our own Ger walked in at the supplier, meanwhile a huge family business, and said: “I would completely change this part of that machine,” subsequently to tell them how he pictured it. On his way back to the airport, he was asked to return to the company’s headquarters, where the board of directors awaited him in a massive meeting room. As Ger walked in, there was a deafening silence. The owner of the company said, ‘I heard you have some ideas about improving the quality of aluminium. Could you please explain them to me?’ Ger then went on to explain that at Euramax, we require super-strong and flat aluminium.

Now, thirty years later, we continue to make regular visits to the company, which now employs thousands of people. When we enter the production facility where the ‘leveller’ is situated, they still say, ‘This line is here because of Ger’s vision.’ This production process has since been set up even more ingeniously, enabling us to collaborate with this supplier in producing the revolutionary StrongLite aluminium.
