Developed as a proprietary alloy by Euramax for Mobility, StrongLite incorporates additional magnesium and undergoes three additional rolling steps, resulting in a game-changing material that sets new standards in the industry.
Strength and lightness in perfect harmony
One of the most remarkable features of StrongLite is its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. Compared with standard aluminium alloys, StrongLite boasts double the yield and tensile strength (see figure 1), enabling manufacturers to create walls that are up to 15% lighter, while maintaining the same structural integrity. Alternatively, StrongLite can be used at the same thickness as traditional alloys, resulting in sidewalls that are 50-80% less prone to dents and hail damage.
Driving sustainability
Reducing vehicle weight is key to achieving sustainability goals –StrongLite delivers significant weight savings without compromising durability. By utilising StrongLite in vehicle construction, manufacturers can reduce the material need by 15% when compared to standard aluminium and by 20% or more when compared to plastic (see figure 2). Almost by definition, the carbon footprint associated with producing the vehicle is reduced when less material is used. During the use phase, this means lighter RVs, buses and other transport vehicles that consume less fuel, emit fewer pollutants and contribute to a cleaner environment. StrongLite isn’t just a material; it’s a step towards a more sustainable future.
